About The Position

Mercer Advisors is seeking a Sr. Tax Associate I to join their Tax Team. This team provides tax compliance services to high-net-worth clients in conjunction with wealth advisors. The Sr. Tax Associate I will be responsible for preparing and delivering income tax returns, tax projections, and analysis for clients, with a focus on individual and entity tax preparation. This role offers a flexible work-from-home schedule with periodic office visits for team collaboration.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-3 years of public accounting experience, or equivalent experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Moderate tax code knowledge and general accounting skills
• Highly organized and tax-oriented
• Ability to handle a large volume of activities at one time
• Ability to communicate concepts to clients and advisors in concise and understandable fashion
• Must be detail-oriented and have excellent time-management skills

Nice To Haves

• Obtained or in the process of obtaining CPA and/or EA preferred
• Master’s degree in Tax a plus
• Experience with CCH, including Axcess, Workflow and Practice, and SafeSend, a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts and businesses
• Create quarterly estimates and projections
• Communicate clearly and concisely with clients on all matters related to income tax return delivery
• Perform tax research
• Respond timely and accurately to tax questions, estimates, projections, and analysis with both tax and wealth management clients
• Coordinate with tax support staff to ensure timely workflow practices and data integrity
• Work with tax staff to respond to tax notices and initial preparation of correspondence
• Stay up to date on tax law and any changes, and communicate the effects of law changes to clients
• All other duties as assigned
