About The Position

Assist management with the Federal and state tax compliance process, provide tax audit support and internal financial reporting support for various entities with specific focus on financial services and treasury entities. Ensure accurate preparation, review and timely submission of all tax returns required by U.S. federal, state and local tax laws. Ensure all tax results and exposures are complete and accurately forecasted and valued for financial reporting purposes in accordance with IFRS. Conduct tax research and complex analysis and support special projects requiring close interaction and communication with other departments in the organization.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting
  • 3+ years of experience with corporate income tax compliance AND accounting for income taxes
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and outside business advisors and government agencies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA License
  • Previous experience with CorpTax software and SAP
  • Public accounting experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist management with federal, state and local income and franchise tax compliance process for the financial services entities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and Daimler Trucks & Buses US Holding’s (DTBUSH) policies including accurate and timely submission of federal and state tax returns.
  • Perform complex research and analysis of accounting and tax positions relating to financial services.
  • Support special projects or ad hoc technical research to optimize DTBUSH’s overall US tax position and reduce tax risks involved with these projects or strategies.
  • Assist in all aspects of federal, state and local income and franchise tax audits and dispute resolution to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations for financial services entities.
  • Ensure audit inquiries are thoroughly researched and responses to auditors’ inquiries are clear, cogent, and timely.
  • Prepare and assist management with all federal and state tax financial reporting requirements including detailed tax forecasts/operative plans, tax contingency reserve analysis, and cash planning for financial services entities.
  • Provide support for financial statement audit for financial services entities.
  • Communicate tax law changes relating to financial services to management and recommend appropriate actions to limit exposures.
  • Manage tax depreciation systems for leased vehicles.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for compliance and tax accounting services.
