Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Law from a recognized institution
  • 5+ years of experience practicing income tax in either a global organization or a larger Tax Consulting Firm supporting Global organizations
  • Working knowledge of US Corporate and Partnership tax compliance and accounting for both Federal and State

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation or US Master of Tax Designation is considered an asset
  • Experience using any of the following computer systems: SAP, S/4 HANA, Oracle, PeopleSoft, OneSource Income Tax, BNA Fixed Assets and Longview, is considered an asset
  • Strong business orientation/business acumen and keen analytical skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, strong attention to detail and processes
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environment

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and document schedule M adjustments
  • Calculate and process estimated tax payments and extensions
  • Collect and analyze state apportionment information
  • Collect and provide legal with financial information for annual reports
  • Process returns through OneSource
  • Research tax questions
  • Work on tax planning opportunities
  • Reconcile financial and tax information on the books and records
  • Complete tax basis balance sheets and rate reconciliations
  • Support the review of tax returns, projects and processes
  • Coordinate and help provide information on assigned federal and state income tax audits
  • Analyze complex tax situations with resources available at various levels to ensure proper recording of the tax effect on transactions
  • Work closely with the broader Finance & Accounting teams in Loveland, Deerfield, Calgary and Saskatoon
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with all US external stakeholders including outside advisors, external auditors, governmental tax auditors, and tax associations
  • Support in implementing process improvements using technology and data management tools
  • May perform other duties as assigned or requested
