About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Tax Provision, this role supports the US-based tax provision team in the accounting for income taxes under ASC 740 for a large multinational public company. The Senior Tax Analyst will play a key role in the quarterly and annual income tax provision, financial reporting support, and process improvements, while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors. This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business (required).
  • 3+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting or a multinational corporation.
  • Hands‑on experience with tax provision accounting (ASC 740) strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Alteryx a plus.
  • Experience with tax provision software (e.g., ONESOURCE) preferred.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience.
  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review foreign tax provision packages and consolidate results into the global provision.
  • Prepare and support the quarterly and annual global income tax provision under ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations.
  • Prepare, document, and analyze uncertain tax positions (UTPs).
  • Prepare and review tax account reconciliations and roll‑forwards.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting schedules supporting financial statement footnotes and disclosures (Form 10‑Q / 10‑K).
  • Assist with effective tax rate (ETR) analysis, cash tax forecasting, and support for budgets and strategic planning.
  • Support purchase accounting and discrete item analysis, including related journal entries.
  • Support SOX compliance by maintaining documentation for tax‑related internal controls, including process flows and narratives.
  • Proactively manage provision timelines and deliverables to meet close deadlines.
  • Perform ad hoc modeling, analytics, and process improvement initiatives, including automation opportunities.
  • Support tax provision systems, automation, and process improvements, partnering with Tax Technology, IT, and Finance to enhance efficiency and data quality.
  • Build strong working relationships with Accounting, Finance, FP&A, Legal, and external advisors.
