Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3+ years of corporate tax experience.
  • Solid foundation in U.S. corporate income tax (federal and state).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to take initiative and continue developing technical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or progress toward CPA is preferred.
  • Experience in a multinational or large corporate environment is a plus.
  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred).
  • Familiarity with OneSource tax software, including Income Tax and Tax Provision, is a plus.
  • Experience with analytic tools, such as Alteryx or Power BI, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, review, and filing of federal and state income tax returns, including extension filings, supporting workpapers, and coordination of quarterly estimated tax payments.
  • Responsible for the calculation and analysis supporting the quarterly and annual income tax provision to ensure compliance with ASC 740 and accurate financial reporting.
  • Contribute to federal and state income/franchise tax audits by gathering required documentation and assisting in the preparation of responses to Information Document Requests (IDRs).
  • Support state income tax apportionment processes, including data collection, validation, and calculation of apportionment factors.
  • Research, analyze, and apply federal and state tax laws and developments, including evaluating the impact of new legislation on the organization.
  • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process, including monthly/quarterly account reconciliations.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including enhancing workpaper design, supporting automation efforts, and improving overall workflow efficiency.
  • Must be located in the Charlotte, NC area or the surrounding areas.
  • Must be comfortable commuting and working in a hybrid work arrangement.
