About The Position

MAAP is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Advisor to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys both the technical side of tax compliance and the opportunity to provide proactive tax planning and business guidance to clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing complex returns, mentoring staff, managing client relationships, and identifying opportunities to help clients improve their tax and financial outcomes. This is primarily a tax leadership role with meaningful opportunities to participate in tax planning and advisory engagements.

Requirements

• Experienced Senior Tax Advisor
• Proficiency in tax compliance
• Ability to provide proactive tax planning and business guidance
• Experience reviewing complex returns
• Client relationship management skills
• Ability to identify opportunities for tax and financial improvement
• Experience in tax planning and advisory engagements
• Experience with Forms 1120S, 1120, 1065, 1040, 1041, 709, 990
• Experience with entity structure, owner compensation, distributions, deductions, and multi-state taxation
• Ability to translate tax results into business insights and recommendations
• Experience mentoring and supervising staff
• Experience managing workflow, deadlines, IRS notices, and client tax issues
• Client-facing advisory experience

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare complex Forms 1120S, 1120, 1065, 1040, 1041, 709, 990
• Lead tax review and quality control.
• Deliver proactive tax planning, projections, and strategic tax advice.
• Identify opportunities involving entity structure, owner compensation, distributions, deductions, and multi-state taxation.
• Translate tax results into business insights and recommendations.
• Mentor and supervise staff, including outsourced team members.
• Manage workflow, deadlines, IRS notices, and client tax issues.
• Serve as a client-facing advisor to business owners.
