About The Position

As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will lead complex accounting and tax engagements, ensuring quality and accuracy. You will build and maintain strong client relationships, serve as a trusted resource on technical matters, and mentor accounting team members. This role offers high impact and visibility across client work and internal operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of combined public accounting and tax experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax principles.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting and tax software; experience with the CCH Axcess suite strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience mentoring and developing team members.
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound professional judgment.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or possess other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s in Tax or an MBA with a tax concentration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex individual and business tax returns, including multi-state compliance.
  • Identify and apply appropriate book-to-tax adjustments.
  • Lead tax research efforts and apply guidance to client-specific scenarios.
  • Support advanced tax planning and advisory engagements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for clients.
  • Proactively identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate complex accounting and tax matters clearly.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
  • Ensure deliverables meet firm standards, policies, and deadlines.
  • Support onboarding and training of new hires.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting and tax workflows.
  • Contribute to documentation, standardization, and best practices.
  • Support firm leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives.
