About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our firm. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing a wide variety of tax returns, supporting tax planning initiatives, and serving as a key point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate is technically strong, organized, and comfortable working in a collaborative, client-focused environment. This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
  • CPA license or active pursuit of CPA required
  • 3–6+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Experience with a variety of tax return types (individual, business, and fiduciary)
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for:
  • Individuals (Form 1040)
  • Partnerships (Form 1065)
  • S Corporations (Form 1120-S)
  • C Corporations (Form 1120)
  • Trusts and estates (Form 1041)
  • Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tax reporting
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and assist in implementing strategies to minimize client tax liabilities
  • Conduct tax research and stay current on tax laws and regulations
  • Communicate directly with clients to request information, answer questions, and provide guidance
  • Review work prepared by junior staff and provide mentorship and training
  • Coordinate and manage multiple engagements and deadlines during peak tax seasons
  • Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and correspondence
  • Support partners and managers with special projects and advisory services
