About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the Company’s federal, state, provincial and local tax filings. This position is responsible for supporting the company's direct and indirect tax compliance activities, including Sales & Use Tax, Property Tax, and State Income Tax. This role will involve strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of multi-state taxation, a collaboration across departments to ensure compliance while identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce tax risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate taxation, public accounting, or tax consulting.
  • Knowledge of multi-entity and state tax reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated experience with Sales & Use Tax, Property Tax, and State Income Tax compliance.
  • Strong understanding of multi-state tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-state operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reconciliations, pivot tables, and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting audits and responding to tax notices preferred.
  • Experience with tax compliance software such as OneSource.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, reviews, and files multi-state sales and use tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Analyzes transaction data to determine taxability and ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations.
  • Researches tax issues and assists with the resolution of sales tax notices, audits, and inquiries.
  • Monitors legislative and regulatory changes impacting indirect taxes and communicating potential business impacts.
  • Reviews and approves personal property tax renditions and related filings.
  • Maintains and reconciles fixed asset records to support property tax reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates with external consultants, taxing authorities, and internal stakeholders throughout the compliance process.
  • Reviews property tax assessments and assist with appeal opportunities to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Ensures compliance with reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assists with the preparation and review of state income and franchise tax returns.
  • Supports state tax provision calculations, including apportionment analyses and state-specific adjustments.
  • Evaluates nexus considerations and filing obligations across multiple states.
  • Assists with tax audits, notices, and correspondence from state taxing authorities.
  • Researches and interpretes state tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Coordinates with external tax advisors and consultants on compliance and planning matters.
  • Supports tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
  • Partners with accounting, finance, operations, and other departments to support business initiatives and tax compliance requirements.
  • Assists with special projects, acquisitions, integrations, and other tax-related initiatives as assigned.
  • Supports for annual income tax provisions (ASC 740)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
