About The Position

Kokosing is seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist (Bilingual - Spanish) to support recruiting efforts across our Mid-Atlantic operations. This role is focused exclusively on craft and field hiring, helping attract, engage, and hire skilled construction professionals who keep our projects moving forward. Based on-site in Richmond, VA, this recruiter will partner closely with superintendents, project teams, and operational leaders to fill critical field positions across the surrounding Mid-Atlantic region. Success in this role requires a recruiter who enjoys being in the field, building relationships, visiting jobsites, and developing a deep understanding of workforce needs. This is not a corporate or leadership recruiting role. The primary focus is hiring craft professionals including equipment operators, carpenters, laborers, foremen, welders, deckhands, and other skilled construction personnel supporting heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate is highly responsive, relationship-driven, bilingual, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where hiring needs can change quickly.

Requirements

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (required).
  • Recruiting experience, preferably supporting construction, industrial, skilled trades, manufacturing, transportation, or other blue-collar workforces.
  • Experience sourcing and hiring hourly employees in high-volume environments.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple openings and priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and recruiting technologies.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction industry experience.
  • Workday or similar HRIS/ATS experience.
  • Experience partnering directly with field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly craft and field positions across the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Build strong partnerships with superintendents, project managers, and operational leaders to understand workforce requirements and project staffing plans.
  • Regularly travel to jobsites - get your work boots and hard hat ready - you will be spending time in the field learning about the roles you support and the leaders who make things happen.
  • Recruit for positions including: Carpenters, Equipment Operators, Skilled Laborers, Structure and Utility Foremen, Crane Operators, Welders, Deckhands, Other heavy civil craft professionals.
  • Source passive and active candidates through referrals, networking, social media, job boards, workforce organizations, and industry contacts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruiting process.
  • Conduct phone screens and initial candidate assessments.
  • Present qualified candidates and detailed interview feedback to hiring managers.
  • Coordinate interviews and maintain communication with candidates and field leadership.
  • Manage recruiting activity and candidate records within Workday.
  • Provide regular updates to hiring managers regarding recruiting progress, market conditions, and hiring challenges.
  • Support outreach initiatives designed to strengthen Kokosing's employment brand within local construction communities.
  • Assist with hiring events, workforce planning discussions, and strategic recruiting initiatives.
  • Extend employment offers and support offer negotiations when needed.
  • Support orientation for new hires in the Richmond, VA area.
