About The Position

The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a critical role in sourcing talent and sustaining a high-performing workforce for Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons (MOS). This position is responsible for full-cycle recruitment across both clinical and non-clinical roles and partners closely with physician leaders, hiring managers, and leadership to attract, assess, and secure top talent. This role operates within complex hiring environments, including hard-to-fill clinical searches, competitive labor markets, and evolving workforce needs. The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist applies sound judgment through relationship-driven and data-informed decision-making, challenges assumptions, advises leaders, and continuously improves MOS’s approach to talent acquisition. From workforce planning through onboarding handoff, this role drives clarity, urgency, and results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field required
  • Minimum of 4 years of full cycle recruiting experience, preferably within a healthcare or regulated environment
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting for clinical or other hard-to-fill roles in competitive labor markets
  • Proven ability to influence and partner effectively with physicians, executives, and operational leaders
  • Strong negotiation experience related to offers, compensation alignment, and vendor management
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using recruiting metrics, labor market data, and workforce trends
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple requisitions, competing priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, change, and fluctuating hiring demands common in healthcare environments
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment technology; tech-savvy and process-oriented
  • HR Knowledge:Solid understanding of general HR practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Problem Solving: Sound judgment in addressing recruiting and HR-related concerns and escalating issues appropriately
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain discretion and ethically handle sensitive employee and candidate information
  • Organization: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Qualifications: HR or Talent Acquisition certification from a nationally recognized institution, such as HRCI or SHRM
  • Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for clinical and non-clinical roles, including nursing, operations hourly roles, revenue cycle positions, and leadership roles
  • Serve as a strategic partner to hiring managers and physician leaders to define staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and align recruiting strategies with operational and patient care goals
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, talent pipeline health, and other indicators to inform hiring strategies
  • Set and maintain a high standard for candidate experience by ensuring timely communication, professionalism, and compliance throughout the hiring process
  • Conduct regular hiring reviews with leaders, sharing recruiting metrics, labor market data, compensation insights, and recommendations to support informed decision-making
  • Proactively source and build talent pipelines using strategies beyond traditional job boards, including networking, referrals, events, and targeted outreach
  • Represent MOS at career fairs, professional association events, and networking opportunities to strengthen the employer brand and attract top healthcare talent
  • Act as a confident and thoughtful negotiator, balancing candidate expectations with internal equity, budget parameters, and organizational goals
  • Partner with HR, Marketing, and Leadership to enhance recruitment messaging, employer branding, and employee referral programs
  • Manage relationships with third-party recruiting agencies, including vendor selection, candidate coordination, contract adherence, and invoice approvals
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records in the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations, employment laws, and internal policies
  • Continuously evaluate and improve recruitment processes using data, feedback, and industry best practices
  • Perform additional HR-related duties as needed that align with recruiting operations and organizational priorities
