About The Position

Everfox is seeking a Senior Tactical Data Link Software Engineer with hands-on experience developing and supporting secure software solutions within U.S. Government and military environments. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with military messaging and tactical data-link standards such as Link 16, JREAP-C, TADIL-J, USMTF and VMF, combined with strong Linux software development and networking expertise. The position will be responsible for developing & testing new product capabilities, software development/build tools, software test infrastructure & operational support for cross-domain products. You will work in a cohesive team environment, willing to grow & learn using many software development & operational tools to test, debug & support software for secure Linux desktop environments, IT operations/enterprise management, IP networking/routing and remote/virtual desktop deployments. Utilize your expertise in legacy U.S. Government messaging systems to guide the requirement definition, design and implementation of secure message gateways.

Requirements

• Direct experience with Link16, JREAP-C, TADIL-J, USMTF, VMF and related standards and protocols.
• BS Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Information Security or equivalent
• 12+ years experience in software engineering, system engineering or related disciplines
• Experience with software development in Linux environments using a variety of programming and scripting languages including Java, Python, Go, C/C++, and/or bash
• Hands-on experience implementing TCP/IP networking & related protocols (such as HTTP, SSH, IPSEC, TLS/SSL, etc)
• Robust understanding of private and public keys and or certificates
• Experience with version control technologies such as Git
• Red Hat Enterprise, Fedora or Ubuntu Linux operating systems
• Ability to obtain US Government Security Clearance if needed

Nice To Haves

• Experience with security design and architecture of Cross Domain solutions (CDS)
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini or OpenCode
• Agile or Scrum development experience
• Experience with deploying cloud technologies such as MS Azure or AWS
• Development experience in a distributed, parallel or clustered processing environment
• Experience with virtual desktop redisplay technologies such as RDP, Citrix Receiver or VMware Horizon View

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency working hands-on in Linux based environments.
• Develop new features and extensions to existing products using a variety of languages including Rust, C, C++, Java, and proprietary languages.
• Self-starter utilizing your Linux and scripting expertise to integrate new features and extensions into complex products.
• Leverage standard networking concepts to support the design and implementation of Cross Domain capabilities.
• Develop data inspection policies using proprietary and open-source programming languages.
• Provide technical briefings to customers and Everfox leadership as required.
