We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Specialist to support our Finance Systems team with systems administration, budget management & analysis, and project oversight. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation and business acumen, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of our Finance systems, optimizing operational spending, and driving the successful delivery of technology initiatives across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance systems administration, IT operations, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting IT budgets, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Proven track record of managing technology projects across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent).
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Coupa, Boomi, and FloQast).
- Experience working in a nonprofit, education, or multi-entity organizational environment.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of our Finance systems, infrastructure, and business applications (tools NetSuite, Coupa, Boomi, and related integrations).
- Manage user access, permissions, onboarding/offboarding, and license management across platforms.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support the development, tracking, and reconciliation of IT capital (CapEx) and operating (OpEx) budgets.
- Partner with Finance and FP&A teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting, variance analysis, and budget reporting.
- Analyze IT spending trends and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize resource allocation.
- Assist in the preparation of budget proposals, business cases, and financial presentations for IT leadership review.
- Monitor vendor contracts, renewals, and expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Lead and support the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk registers, and status reports.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, vendors, and team members to ensure project milestones are met on time and within scope.
- Facilitate project meetings, document action items, and communicate progress to leadership and relevant departments.
- Apply project management best practices and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) as appropriate to each initiative.
- Serve as a key liaison between the Finance System team and business departments to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain a repository of technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Support end-user training and adoption efforts related to new systems and technology rollouts.
