About The Position

As a Senior Systems Specialist at Tenom, you'll design, configure, and deploy solutions using the latest approved technology, working closely with internal stakeholders and clients to bring project goals to life. You'll be a trusted technical partner — helping shape innovative, customized IT solutions that meet both Tenom's standards and our clients' unique needs.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • 3–5 years of working knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networking, storage, servers, and industry-related standards
  • Experience configuring Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Expertise in debugging hardware, software, and network problems
  • Practical knowledge of several operating systems and databases
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and accuracy in project documentation
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • A valid driver's license is required for any required on site client visits.

  • Relevant certifications — such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar — are an asset

Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned project work under Tenom service agreements
  • Lead integration and consolidation of enterprise technology solutions
  • Work with third parties to support client technology deployments
  • Assist in preparing tactical and strategic technology plans
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to design innovative and customized IT solutions based on Tenom's and the client's requirements and objectives
  • Configure Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS environments
  • Configure networking — switching, routing, and firewalls
  • Manage virtual infrastructure — VMs, storage access, and control
  • Administer Windows and Linux servers
  • Develop internal technology standards for efficient platform implementation
  • Advise clients on technical architecture and solution planning
  • Provide guidance on server and software infrastructure configurations
  • Provide technical input on hardware and software selection
  • Lead development of application security management plans
  • Manage security for applications accessed by clients and external users
  • Ensure all documentation — architecture designs, configurations, and technical specifications — is accurate and up to date
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of solutions, architectures, best practices, and lessons learned
  • Share knowledge and provide training to internal teams to support effective implementation and support of proposed solutions
