About The Position

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems Software Engineer to join its Digital Advantage team. The team works on Linux stack integration, systems programming, low-level networking, and hardware-facing data center infrastructure. This role focuses on integrating commercial off-the-shelf hardware and network components into cohesive, production-ready platforms. The engineer will develop systems software in C and Python, perform Linux kernel and driver integration, configure PCIe architecture and high-performance networking, and collaborate with mechanical and hardware engineers. The position also involves communicating project status, helping resolve customer issues, and presenting technical designs to unclassified and classified customer stakeholders. The role is based on-site at the Arlington, Virginia office and requires an active Top Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical domain.
  • At least 9 years of experience in systems programming, data center infrastructure, or network architecture.
  • Deep expertise in systems programming in C and Python for low-level networking and hardware-facing code.
  • Expertise in Linux internals, including kernel modules, drivers, device enumeration, and debugging below userspace.
  • Expertise in PCIe system architecture, including topology, addressing, peer-to-peer, virtualization, and passthrough.
  • Demonstrated experience with high-performance networking, including kernel-bypass packet processing, hardware offload, and line-rate data paths.
  • Demonstrated experience with out-of-band management, including BMC and REST-based interfaces with automation.
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines with hardware and mechanical engineers.
  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Willingness to speak with classified customers and ability to work on-site at the Arlington, Virginia office.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical domain.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Experience with platform security frameworks, including secure boot, roots of trust, attestation, cryptographic hardware, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with embedded or firmware tasks, including ARM cross-compilation, firmware provisioning, serial console, and out-of-band recovery.
  • Familiarity with GPU compute architectures, including CUDA and accelerated inference pipelines; network security monitoring, including intrusion detection, traffic analysis, and detection engineering; or live memory forensics.
  • Hands-on experience with COTS hardware integration, automated test ranges, network deployment automation, and CI/CD infrastructure pipelines.
  • Experience developing and deploying tailored offensive and defensive CNO capabilities through low-level systems development, network protocol analysis, and reverse engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Implement C and Python systems programming for low-level networking, hardware-facing code, and Linux kernel integration.
  • Perform Linux internals work, including kernel module development, driver configuration, device enumeration, and debugging below userspace.
  • Configure and integrate PCIe system architecture, high-performance networking offloads, and out-of-band management interfaces.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and hardware engineers to integrate COTS components into fieldable, production-ready platforms.
  • Communicate project status to team leads, provide technical insights to resolve customer issues, and present technical designs to unclassified and classified customer stakeholders.
