About The Position

Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking Senior Systems Engineers interested in ocean engineering. Our Portsmouth, RI team primarily supports programs in the naval undersea and naval surface domains, including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. Our engineers perform underwater acoustics analysis and tracking, radar analysis and tracking, develop and manage system requirements, integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and/or verifying system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or other programing languages.
  • Experience with MBSE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, and/or other digital engineering tools.
  • Experience with system software, system hardware, system requirements and/or test.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with identifying root causes of system failures through detailed diagnostics, implementing timely fixes to restore functionality, and develop preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Experience presenting technical findings, analyses, and solutions to leadership and customers.
  • Experience in developing testing procedures, reports, and troubleshooting complex systems
  • Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or field environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system performance evaluations and in-depth analysis to identify opportunities for new functionality and system enhancements.
  • Work across disciplines to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Create/modify documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Perform integration, verification, and validation testing/reporting to ensure the system under test performs according to specifications/requirements
  • Travel, both domestic and international, to support customer events, with an expected travel requirement not exceeding 15%.
