About The Position

Amentum is seeking a DLM Systems Maintenance Engineer (SME) to support the Space Force Range contract. Key Responsibilities Perform depot maintenance actions, including Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM), Unscheduled Depot-Level Maintenance (UDLM), Emergency Depot-Level Maintenance (EDLM), and Sustainability Actions (SA). Review manufacturer’s installation and operation manuals as applicable. Perform Quality Inspection of work performed for signature validation. Work closely with Environmental Hazards & Safety to ensure the safety of the Depot team. Procure parts, and obtain materials, tools, hardware, and personal safety equipment required to accomplish assignments. Work with Logistics, PHS&T – Shipping and Transportation for all Temporary Duty locations. Evaluate electromechanical hardware problems and recommend corrective modifications. Analyze electronic, optical, and mechanical equipment and components. Assist in the formulation of operational and maintenance procedures and schedules. Perform in-depth inspections for each item listed on the Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) checklist. Provide technical direction and training to the Depot Team (Machinists, Electronic Techs, etc.) as required during maintenance actions, such as fabrication, modifications, and preventative and corrective maintenance. Assist with Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) test equipment as required to obtain verification of test results. Prepare reports for management by request

Requirements

  • A.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical studies or equivalent military training or combination of education and commercial electronic industry experience
  • Ten (10) years minimum experience directly related to electro-mechanical or engineering work
  • Extensive knowledge in two or more of the following: Radar, Telemetry, Communications, Timing, Command, Optics, and Weather Systems
  • Knowledge of Eastern Range (ER) Instrumentation Systems using Range Systems drawings, schematics, specifications, Installation Methods Manual, or Technical Orders
  • Extensive experience with electromechanical systems maintenance and thorough knowledge of engineering requirements and procedures. (Radar, Telemetry, Command, Communication & Timing, and Weather Systems)
  • High degree of mechanical repair and machining knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. passport or ability to obtain one
  • Must be able to travel 30-40% locally, within the Continental U.S, and Outside the Continental U.S. (OCONUS)
  • Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
