About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Mission Systems (SMS) Division, seeks a Systems Engineering Manager (L-Level) to lead the Systems Architecture & Digital Systems Engineering capability based in El Segundo, California. Our team works with Commercial, Government, and Proprietary Customers in the development and deployment of next-generation technologies and systems in Space. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide high impact, creative solutions to complex technical problems, the ability to work as part of a large team, and the ability to provide critical support and independent review of the work of teammates.

Requirements

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
10+ years of experience with systems engineering processes and tools
5+ years of experience creating MBSE systems models in Cameo, Magic Systems of Systems Architect (MSOSA), or similar software
Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
Experience implementing model-based approaches on engineering projects/programs, ensuring seamless integration of delivered models within the receiving architecture and digital engineering platform
Experience with model-derived ConOps requirements development, interface control documentation, technical specification review, architecture development
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

10+ years of experience within the aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence diverse audiences on digital concepts and technologies, from business leaders to technologists
Ability to provide technical and programmatic recommendations on the development, integration, and use of digital engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts and structures
Experience leading technical teams or projects

Responsibilities

Provide Functional Leadership to a group of 15-20 SEIT engineers supporting multiple programs
Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities for employees
Perform employee performance management, hiring, retention, awards/recognition, and goal setting
Develop employee engagement activities to motivate and engage the workforce
Execute critical program staffing and redeployment activities
Develop and maintain common Digital Systems Engineering processes, tools, and standards for SMS programs
Develop and execute a robust training and development plan on established Digital Systems Engineering processes and tools
Manage and enforce Digital Systems Engineering processes and standards
Foster strong customer relationships
