About The Position

Boeing Mission Systems (SMS) Experimental Systems Group (ESG) is seeking a highly skilled professional to serve as a Senior Systems Engineering Manager (Level L) to join our team in Herndon, VA or Seal Beach, CA. Our multi-disciplinary team focuses on rapid development to demonstrate a host of next-generation, mission-focused technologies, products and services for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, architecture, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • This position requires an active Top Secret/ SCI U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • 5+ years of experience with information technology, telecommunications, or software
  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership or management role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and invest in a multi-skilled team of systems engineers, cloud architects, administrators, network architects, and others
  • Lead a significant new multi-year modernization effort, including transition to a cloud environment and implementing infrastructure efficiency opportunities
  • Drive alignment to the roadmap vision, while automating to reduce operational costs and increasing quality
  • Provide oversight for technical and cost baselines of proposals and bids for future architecture activities
  • Perform architecture and technical trades for program decisions and future business
  • Manage resources, schedules, and staffing to execute concurrent programs
