We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role as Senior Product Line Systems Engineer within the Open Platforms Applications Software department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Teams are comprised of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software only products. In addition, our experienced engineers are involved in all aspects of the product life cycle, from bid and proposal to certification and support.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Experience in software integration and testing at the system level.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

Agile systems engineering experience
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw CAMEO, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect
Project planning and execution on programs
Experience in writing requirements specifications
Understanding and utilization of the appropriate processes and tools during pursuit and order capture.
Strong leadership skills demonstrated with interpersonal interaction, individual mentoring to develop the team composition, and training.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others in a professional team environment.
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, while balancing priorities and schedules are important attributes.
Self-starter and have strong analytical skills.
Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance if needed.

Responsibilities

Provide strong technical skills specifically in system-based development.
Serve as a lead systems engineer to capture, analyze, decompose, model, translate and create requirements for large complex systems and may lead system integration.
Mentors team in the development of functional, interface and performance specifications for hardware and software implementation.
Identify and document architecturally significant requirements and technical risk areas.
Apply SysML concepts for System Modeling across a full engineering lifecycle
May serve as system lead in integration, verification and validation for large complex systems.
Significant domain knowledge and knowledge of products, systems and applicable regulatory requirements across business units.
Decisions may have a major impact on cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Recommend new approaches, tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement in technical development processes.
Mentor product development teams in the utilization of the appropriate processes and tools during product development, thus increasing product quality and improving customer satisfaction.
Willingness to travel (domestic and international <35%).
