About The Position

KēSTA I.T. is actively seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer for an immediate contract engagement with a government client. This role involves leading the design, migration, customization, and support of enterprise managed file transfer solutions. The position requires deep technical expertise in secure file transfer platforms, systems engineering, database architecture, and automation scripting to support large-scale, mission-critical data exchange operations. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership for platform migration initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders to design secure file transfer solutions, and ensure the reliability, scalability, and compliance of enterprise data transfer services.

Requirements

7+ years of experience customizing and supporting managed file transfer platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting, and customer support.
7+ years of experience with managed file transfer database architecture and administration.
Strong expertise in secure file transfer technologies, protocols, and enterprise integration solutions.
Extensive experience with PowerShell scripting for automation, system management, and operational workflows.
Experience designing, developing, testing, documenting, packaging, and delivering automation scripts.
Strong knowledge of networking concepts and secure data transmission practices.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise file transfer environments handling high-volume data exchanges.
Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices and methodologies.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex system issues.
Experience developing strategic technical plans and supporting long-term system modernization initiatives.
Strong customer service and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Ability to design file transfer solutions that meet both technical and business requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead the migration of legacy managed file transfer solutions to modern secure file transfer platforms.
Design, configure, customize, and maintain enterprise file transfer environments to support secure and reliable data exchange.
Analyze existing file transfer workflows and develop migration strategies for transitioning customers and integrations to new platforms.
Design and implement automation scripts to support file transfer operations, monitoring, notifications, retries, and process optimization.
Develop, test, document, package, and deploy scripts and technical solutions for file transfer automation.
Provide technical troubleshooting and support for complex file transfer, network, and system integration issues.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements and design secure file transfer solutions.
Support database architecture, maintenance, and optimization for managed file transfer platforms.
Ensure secure file transfer solutions meet compliance, audit, and security standards.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, migration plans, system configurations, and operational procedures.
Assist customers and technical teams in designing file transfer workflows that align with operational requirements.
Participate in project planning and maintain strategic roadmaps to support long-term service enhancements.
Apply software development lifecycle methodologies to system upgrades, enhancements, and operational support.
Provide technical guidance and collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and service continuity.
