Senior Systems Engineer
About The Position
M9 Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support a government contract onsite for a client located in San Diego, CA. An active Top Secret clearance is required. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of a mission-focused software cloud application. Responsibilities include analysis of needs, development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), client and team collaboration, UI mock-ups, technical documentation, agile capabilities generation, backlog management, sprint planning, customer engagement, and close interaction with software and system test engineers. The role also requires performing analysis and tasks at concurrent stages, including technical planning, system design, software implementation, system integration, and verification and validation. Occasional business travel to client locations may be required for product demonstrations and client meetings.
Requirements
- Top Secret security clearance.
- Experience with TCPED processes, practices, and tools, focusing on tasking and collection.
- Understanding of User Interface design and development practices.
- Experience working on-site with clients and end users in the government space.
- Experience with Agile management tools (e.g., Jira, etc.).
- Experience with UML/SysML modeling tools such as MagicDraw.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Subversion, Git, etc.).
- Experience with DevSecOps tools and processes.
- Experience with Cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of open, standards-based architectures, interfaces, and geospatial data.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering/technical discipline, and 8+ years of related experience or equivalent experience, training, and/or certifications.
- Proficient in requirements identification, analysis, documentation, and tracking.
- Proficient in analyzing client needs and identifying user stories and technical tasks to achieve various Agile objectives and iterative development schedules.
- Proficient in statistical analysis methods and tools.
- Experience with system integration and testing on a UNIX or Linux platform.
- Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment.
- Motivated self-starter with good problem-solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability.
- Ability to develop improved methods to increase program efficiency.
- Demonstrated leadership skills (supervisory experience, building teams, mentoring, building client relationships).

- Good planning and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
