This position is for a critical member of our Advanced Surgical division's R&D team, based in Denver, CO. The engineer will have immediate opportunities to contribute to new product development with a focus on minimally invasive surgical technologies designed to deliver real benefits to surgeons, hospitals and their patients. Requirements

  • 8+ years engineering work experience (6+ years with related Master’s degree or 3+ with a PhD)
  • B.S. in Mechanical, Software, Electrical or Systems Engineering (or highly related field)
  • Strong knowledge of system engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • General understanding of relevant technologies, including software development, hardware design, mechanics, and system integration.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex technical challenges.
  • Effective communication skills to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a regulated environment, such as FDA 21 CFR 820 or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a technical leader responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of medium-sized complex systems, from initial conception and requirements definition to design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring the system meets all functional and performance specifications while providing strategic direction and technical expertise to cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to the development of system architecture, defining system interfaces, components, and overall system design to optimize functionality and performance.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document system requirements, ensuring they are clearly defined, verifiable/validatable, and aligned with project goals.
  • Oversee the integration of various system components, managing interfaces and dependencies to ensure seamless system operation.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to verify system functionality against requirements and validate overall system performance.
  • Contribute to project planning, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering teams, and customers, to communicate technical details and manage expectations.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation including system specifications, design documents, and user guides.
