About The Position

Signalink, a dynamic, small defense contractor committed to excellence in providing advanced defense solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Systems Engineer to join their team. This role involves leading the application of systems engineering principles and methodologies throughout the lifecycle of complex avionics and aircraft systems supporting U.S. Army aviation programs. The Senior Systems Engineer will serve as a senior technical contributor and subject matter expert in systems engineering, system integration, requirements development, and technical analysis. They will work directly with government and industry customers to define program objectives, develop technical solutions, resolve complex engineering issues, and support program execution. The position also involves leading the development, decomposition, allocation, analysis, verification, validation, and traceability of system and subsystem requirements, as well as developing and evaluating system architectures, functional allocations, interfaces, and system-level technical solutions. The role requires performing and leading independent engineering analyses of avionics and aircraft systems, including physical, functional, performance, operational, and system-of-systems characteristics. Additionally, the Senior Systems Engineer will lead the development and review of engineering documentation supporting airworthiness substantiation, safety assessments, requirements traceability, verification, validation, and qualification activities. They will evaluate technical risks, system interfaces, dependencies, and integration challenges, and develop recommendations for resolution. The position also includes reviewing and technically assessing engineering analyses, test results, technical reports, and engineering products developed by other team members. The Senior Systems Engineer will lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts involving systems, mechanical, electrical, software, safety, configuration management, and other technical disciplines, providing technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, and supporting the development of engineering processes, tools, and best practices. Support for the development and implementation of digital engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) capabilities across aviation programs is also a key responsibility. Finally, the role involves preparing and presenting technical findings, engineering recommendations, and program deliverables to government customers, program leadership, and internal stakeholders, as well as supporting proposal development, technical planning, engineering estimates, and other business development activities as needed.
