About The Position

The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance. This position is on site in Woburn, MA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with Matlab, C/C++, Java, or DOORS.
  • Experience with systems analysis, algorithms, requirements development, and/or signal processing techniques.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Secret - Current Security Clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Battle Management command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (BMC4I) systems, Radar Systems or signal processing techniques.
  • Experience with developing, documenting and maintaining processes, methods and tools.
  • Ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues.
  • Analytic, technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with system level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture.
  • Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance.
  • Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance.
  • Experience and interest in Information Assurance/Cyber Engineering requirements, determination, development and implementation.
  • Experience in using AI/ML and signal processing in database and algorithm design and enhancement
  • Previous military service.
  • Ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.
  • Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions.
  • Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance.
  • Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements.
  • Contributing to one or more capability areas, including: Electronic Protection, signal processing, and applied mathematics.
  • Hypersonic threat defense.
  • Tracking, discrimination, search, and battle manager interfaces.
  • Radar calibration, diagnostics, and deployed site support.
  • Modeling and simulation of tactical software.
