About The Position

The Senior Systems Engineer supports the SLS Program and NASA systems on the Amentum ESSCA contract, providing systems engineering support to the NASA SLS Avionics and Ground Systems Test Branch (ES53) at Marshall Space Flight Center. The position plans and performs systems engineering activities for the development, integration, verification, and validation of SLS Integration and Test Facilities (IATF) and Software Development Facilities (SDFs), which are used to verify the integrated avionics system for the Space Launch System. The engineer also supports development and verification of SLS emulators for integration into facilities used to develop and test the NASA Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, Second Stage Rocket, Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage, Centaur V, or the Launch Control System. Work includes defining and evaluating requirements and interfaces; planning and supporting verification and validation; coordinating with software, hardware, and facility development personnel; and ensuring test systems and equipment are appropriately validated and controlled. The role reviews test data, tracks results to requirements, reports verification and validation progress and conclusions, supports development testing, and manages schedules and deliverables. Activities continue as the launch vehicle architecture matures and the SLS program proceeds through phases, reviews, and milestones.
