This position will provide engineering and technical support for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) USW Platforms & Payload Integration Department, and associated Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW) stakeholders. This role is specifically for a Code 45 Liaison to the Command Submarine Force Atlantic in Norfolk, VA and Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC) in Groton, CT and/or Norfolk, VA. The contractor shall perform engineering and analyses to assess the Subsea and Seabed Warfare capabilities relating to unmanned platforms, and other payloads and systems that support U.S. and/or AUKUS inclusive of subject matter expertise and in support of Concepts of Employments/Operations efforts. Work will primarily occur in-person in Norfolk, VA with periodic travel for test support and stakeholder technical exchanges (if necessary to support task execution). Engineers will conduct rigorous analyses that enable US Navy to make assessments, decisions, and plans to deliver warfighting capabilities via emerging undersea technologies. Qualified applicants will have a strong background in problem-solving and analytical skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to rapidly assess a problem, reliable to deliver on time, quick thinking, and be able to balance the requirements of multiple stakeholders. They should preferably be familiar with systems engineering practices, providing programmatic support to decision-makers at various levels, and undersea systems operational research and analysis.
