About The Position

Lentech is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer. This role applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. The engineer will interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. This position requires communication with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. The engineer will be responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables. Additionally, the role serves as the Solution Train Engineer (STE) within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, acting as a servant leader and coach for the Solution Train supporting a High-Performance Computing (HPC) program. This position provides expert advisory and technical assistance services to government program leadership while facilitating the execution of large, complex solutions requiring multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs), suppliers, and specialized high-performance computing systems. The role combines SAFe Solution Train leadership with advanced systems engineering expertise to support PAC’s mission of developing data processing systems, high performance computing systems, mission repositories, and analytic capabilities.

Requirements

  • Active and current TS.SCI w FSP through MD
  • Deep understanding of SAFe principles, practices, and competencies at the Solution Train level
  • Expert knowledge of Agile Release Train operations and coordination
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and DevSecOps practices
  • Understanding of Lean Portfolio Management and Value Stream concepts
  • Experience with multi-ART coordination, dependency management, and solution level planning
  • Knowledge of system requirements management, interface control and configuration management
  • Experience with requirements traceability, verification, and validation approaches
  • Proficiency with configuration management and version control systems
  • Experience with collaboration tools supporting distributed teams (MS Teams, Confluence, SharePoint)
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.
  • A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
  • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
