About The Position

This role involves performing technical analysis related to systems design and development, encompassing the entire systems engineering life cycle and DoD design review processes. The engineer will utilize model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques and support systems analysis through simulation techniques. Key responsibilities include executing and documenting test plans, making recommendations on technical alternatives and component selection, and producing technical documentation such as white papers and customer deliverables. The position requires collaboration with leadership, leading technical reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited institution in relevant engineering or science discipline required
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area
  • Familiarity with a range of systems engineering tools
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
  • Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
  • Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Cameo experience preferred
  • Background in developing and/or testing aircraft and/or military components preferred
  • Experience with systems integration, structural analysis and/or Python preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical analysis related to systems design and development
  • Conduct tasks associated with systems engineering life cycle and the DoD design review process
  • Utilize model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques
  • Support systems analysis (e.g., discrete event simulation) with simulation techniques
  • Follow, perform, and record the results of the execution of a test plan
  • Exercise judgment to make recommendations on technical alternatives, component design or selection, and/or adaptation to meet assigned requirements
  • Proficient in technical writing including white papers, customer deliverable documents, etc.
  • Collaborate with leadership at all levels
  • Lead technical reviews and meetings, internal and external
  • Perform duties under supervision of staff and chief engineers
  • Mentor less experienced engineers
  • Other duties as assigned
