About The Position

Make the world’s most advanced Strategic Fire Control System even smarter! As an Advanced Systems Engineer for Strategic Weapon Control, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for coordinating development of a subsystem upgrade to a submarine Fire Control System. This role involves integrating complex technical scope across a team with varying technical goals, generating white papers for informing the strategic community about the introduction of new technologies, and mentoring engineering leaders across technical and project management topics. Success in this role requires leading the systems development life cycle, proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools, and the ability to apply technical standards and methodologies. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, a collaborative team player with strong presentation and communication skills, and is committed to ongoing professional development for themselves and others. This position also identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools.
  • Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions.

  • Fire Control Systems (FCS) experience.
  • Systems requirements; documentation management, testing, verification, and validation.
  • Systems Design and Development including Hardware and software integration; planning, testing, troubleshooting, and report generation.
