About The Position

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a technical, hands-on position supporting HPDA’s portfolio of projects. The role focuses on software integration, PKI infrastructure, and maintaining automated infrastructure solutions to ensure the high availability and scalability of HPC systems in a Linux environment. The position requires a TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly, 20 years of systems engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, and demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required, although five additional years of Systems Engineering experience may substitute for the degree. The position is subject to ITAR and/or EAR requirements; applicants will be asked to provide documentation verifying U.S. person status, and some positions may require U.S. citizenship due to contract requirements.

Requirements

Proficient in using the Linux command-line interface.
Demonstrated experience writing Bash or Python scripts.
Linux administration experience, including software integration, service management, configuration management, and routine sustainment operations related to provisioning, storage, and networking.
Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS, GOTS, or FOSS software, libraries, and packages in a Linux environment.
Experience with FOOS Secret Management products, including Vault.
Experience with stream or batch Big Data processing and analytic frameworks.
Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code principles and automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Ansible.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration technologies.
Knowledge of PKI infrastructure, principles, and concepts, including managing PKI certificate lifecycle, NPE, wildcards, and FQDN.
Experience with Git for source code management.
TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly required.
Twenty years of Systems Engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity required.
Demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts required.
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; five additional years of Systems Engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
Must provide documentation verifying U.S. person status under ITAR and/or EAR requirements; some positions require current U.S. citizenship due to contract requirements.

Nice To Haves

Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including JIRA and Confluence.
Demonstrated experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
