About The Position

Simmonds Precision is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our engineering team. The Senior Systems Engineer will lead the architecture, integration, and full lifecycle development of complex technical systems for aerospace applications while working alongside cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Experience with requirements management tools like DOORs, Polarion, or similar
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • This position is for an on-site role in Vergennes, VT

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML and Simulink toolsets
  • Familiarity with industry standards ARP4754, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP4761 or similar

Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers to understand high-level operational goals, conceptual designs, and requirements to generate system requirements
  • Lead full product lifecycle development from requirements and design to integration, qualification, and field deployment
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Develop system and subsystem architectures, defining boundaries and evaluating design trade-offs
  • Translate system requirements into hardware and software requirements
  • Direct cross-functional Engineering teams (Software, Mechanical, and Electrical) by delegating tasks to achieve technical objectives and resolving conflicts real time.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies
