About The Position

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work full-time from within their customer on-site facility in Aurora, Colorado. This role involves responding off-hours to anomalies and problems on a unique and complex system, monitoring and logging system conditions, alerts, and alarms. The engineer will maintain good working relationships with customers, peers, and associate contractors, and stay aware of the operational status of subsystem hardware and supporting monitoring scripts. Responsibilities include obtaining and applying technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems, documenting discrepancies, implementing workarounds, and contributing to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new system deliveries. The role also requires obtaining and maintaining technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures, accurately selecting and applying the correct procedures as needed, and training new teammates on the system. Investigating the root cause of problems is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Cshell, PERL, or HTML
  • Experience with Linus and MS Office operating systems.
  • Experience with Confluence/Jira system
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scripting language TCL/TK.
  • Experience with control-systems theory.
  • Experience with electronic systems, Electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with RF and digital communications.
  • Experience of engineering tradeoffs.
  • Experience with technical briefings.
  • Experience utilizing analysis methods and tools to trouble shoot various events.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new system deliveries.
  • Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand.
