About The Position

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the architecture, development, integration, support, and continuous improvement of CVS Health's automated distribution center technology platforms. This role serves as a technical leader within the Logistics Open Systems organization supporting Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), AutoStore automation, industrial controls, conveyor systems, Pick-to-Light technologies, and Ignition HMI platforms across the CVS distribution center network. The position partners closely with Distribution Center Operations, Supply Chain Technology Services, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and third-party vendors to deliver highly available solutions that support order fulfillment, inventory movement, automation orchestration, and operational modernization initiatives. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to drive complex projects from concept through production deployment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, automation platforms, or logistics technology environments
  • 5+ years experience with Warehouse Management, Warehouse Execution, or Warehouse Control Systems
  • Experience supporting high-availability production systems in a 24x7 operational environment
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale software implementations and system integrations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier III support for mission-critical Supply Chain systems operating in 24x7 fulfillment environments
  • Lead root cause analysis for production incidents involving automation, controls, integrations, or warehouse execution functions
  • Analyze application logs, database activity, message queues, interface traffic, PLC communication, and vendor support diagnostics.
  • Execute disaster recovery, rollback, and business continuity procedures as required
  • Support expansion, optimization, and operational readiness of AutoStore environments
  • Partner with robotics vendors and operational teams to improve system availability and throughput
  • Design infrastructure, controls, networking, and redundancy improvements supporting future AutoStore growth
  • Assist with validation, testing, and deployment of new AutoStore functionality and infrastructure enhancements
  • Lead medium to large-scale projects supporting Distribution Center modernization initiatives
  • Create technical documentation, deployment procedures, and testing strategies
  • Coordinate activities across vendors, operations teams, infrastructure teams, and project management organizations
  • Support capital investments and technology evaluations for emerging logistics technologies
