We are a rapidly growing organization seeking a DoD Secret Cleared Senior Systems Engineer SME to serve as the lead technical expert for the design, implementation, modernization, and lifecycle management of the J63H Platform Services infrastructure in the Hampton Roads, VA area. The SME provides engineering support for enterprise server, virtualization, storage, and network environments while ensuring system availability, cybersecurity compliance, and alignment with DISA enterprise architecture standards. This position leads configuration management, lifecycle planning, infrastructure upgrades, and technical troubleshooting efforts supporting mission-critical DoD operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and systems engineering.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware vSphere/ESXi, SAN technologies, and enterprise backup solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Cisco technologies, and enterprise system architecture.
  • Experience supporting DoD cybersecurity compliance and RMF requirements.
  • DoD 8140/8570 certification (one of the desired certifications below) is required.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise server, virtualization, and storage solutions.
  • Lead configuration management and lifecycle management activities.
  • Develop technical documentation, architectural diagrams, SOPs, and implementation plans.
  • Manage and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware, SAN, SCCM, and related infrastructure technologies.
  • Perform independent verification, validation, and technical assessments for infrastructure projects.
  • Support infrastructure modernization, technology refresh, and migration initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with RMF, STIG, ACAS, IAVA, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Provide Tier III troubleshooting and support for complex system issues.
  • Support disaster recovery, continuity of operations, and system restoration efforts.
  • Coordinate with Government stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to support operational requirements.
