About The Position

QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer, Network Architect to join our team at APG, MD to support our customer, Project Manager Intelligence Systems & Analytics (PM IS&A). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing the network infrastructure supporting Army Intelligence systems. This role is responsible for creating comprehensive architectural documentation, diagnosing network performance issues, and engineering robust solutions to ensure uninterrupted, high-speed data flow across the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN-A) and intelligence networks.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in network systems engineering, topology recreation, and enterprise architecture management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in capacity planning, bottleneck isolation, and performance optimization for large-scale, distributed networks.
  • Deep understanding of Army and DoD network regulations (e.g., AR 25-1) and the technical realities of operating within secure, high-stakes intelligence environments.
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to brief senior military leadership and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Experience working with user representatives, and Army and Joint programs to develop and execute interoperability testing between systems.
  • Experience with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance software systems.
  • Experience in design, integration, configuration, and analysis of complex software systems, military electronics, computer networking, and digital and graphic display systems.
  • Includes direct experience with Department of Defense System Engineering processes.
  • ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Top Secret w/SCI eligibly

Responsibilities

  • Map, document, and maintain accurate "As-Is" and "To-Be" network architectures for Army Intel systems, ensuring compliance with DoDAF and EA standards.
  • Utilize advanced network management and packet-level analysis tools to monitor traffic, identify bandwidth limitations, latency issues, and structural bottlenecks within tactical and strategic intelligence networks.
  • Design, test, and propose scalable network enhancements to resolve identified bottlenecks, developing contingency plans, alternate routing strategies, and technical specifications for infrastructure upgrades.
  • Partner with Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), hardware engineering teams, and key intelligence stakeholders to translate network constraints into actionable requirements and coordinate the integration of modernized network solutions.
