About The Position

The Senior Systems Engineer Liaison shall provide support to SSG contractors in the Denver area. The Contractor shall provide matrixed reach back support to the SSG program office in the areas of GFX/STE management, COMSEC development/management, payload artifact review, space vehicle bus artifact review, risk management, requirements review, and enter segment coordination as needed. This role involves providing systems engineering leadership to the systems engineering, integration, and test, and project engineering teams, applying engineering rigor to achieve execution excellence and solve critical issues. The position requires participation in system and independent design reviews, test/production, readiness reviews, trade studies, and other program/customer reviews. Ensuring requirements are met through rigorous requirements management, technical reviews, integration, verification and validation activities is crucial. The role demands frequent interaction with government customers, FFRDC, and development contractors, requiring strong communication skills for written deliverables, group discussions, and oral presentations. The candidate is expected to be a recognized expert within the company, designing, researching, and developing highly advanced applications that may lead to new product/business opportunities. They will also lead efforts to capture new business through technical work and capability briefings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 12-15 yrs of experience or a Master's with 10-13 yrs of experience or PhD with 10+ years of experience.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly.
  • Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.
  • Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
  • Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
  • Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements.
  • Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development.
  • Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole.
  • Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
  • Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.
  • Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
  • Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements.
  • Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
  • Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, math, physics, or related discipline
  • 10 years or more a full life cycle systems engineering experience with a record of increasing responsible leadership positions
