About The Position

The Senior Systems and Cloud Engineer keeps Global IT’s internal systems and client cloud environments secure, reliable, scalable, and well documented. This role is also the senior escalation point for complex cloud, virtualization, systems, and infrastructure issues.

Requirements

7+ years in systems, cloud, infrastructure, or virtualization engineering.
Strong experience with platforms such as Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, VMware, Hyper-V, and Proxmox.
Experience as a senior technical Systems escalation resource.
Strong knowledge of networking, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resiliency.
Ability to support multiple environments; MSP or multi-client experience is helpful.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and business judgment.

Nice To Haves

Cloud architecture and MSP experience is a plus.
Azure, Microsoft, VMware, AWS, Linux, or related certifications.
Automation or scripting experience.
Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, CMMC), healthcare, hospitality, multi-location environments, technical standards, or scalable infrastructure processes.

Responsibilities

Design, manage, secure, and optimize Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, and related platforms. Support capacity planning, backups, disaster recovery, migrations, and lifecycle management.
Lead advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, major outage response, and permanent resolution of complex issues.
Monitor client environments, licensing, performance, capacity, backups, and service standards. Partner with account managers and project teams on recommendations.
Create clear standards, procedures, templates, and technical documentation. Improve consistency, automation, efficiency, and risk management.
Mentor technical staff, provide peer review, remove technical roadblocks, and work closely with Operations, Security, Projects, and leadership.
