Senior Systems Analyst
About The Position
This role focuses on analyzing, designing, and developing application systems to support business needs. The individual will collaborate closely with business units and subject matter experts to define technical requirements and deliver effective solutions. Responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, estimating timelines and costs, and implementing new or enhanced applications. The role may also involve guiding overall system design and ensuring ongoing maintenance aligns with organizational objectives. A strong understanding of development methodologies and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions are essential. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!. This role is located at a client site in either Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software development experience, ideally working on projects of comparable scope and complexity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and experience defining JSON schemas
- Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming, particularly Java
- Familiarity with JSON-based databases and general data handling practices
- Experience using tools such as Postman and XMLSpy (or similar testing/validation tools)
- Good grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile and Waterfall approaches
- Comfortable gathering requirements, mapping business processes, and producing clear documentation
- Working knowledge of database systems (SQL, Oracle, or similar) and data analysis techniques
