About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises seeks a Senior Systems Analyst in Huntsville, Alabama, contingent upon prime contractor approval. The role supports the Missile Defense Agency’s Next Generation Software Office by developing data pipelines, querying databases, and optimizing dashboards in cloud-based environments. The analyst will implement continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices; automate data-quality testing and version-controlled transformation workflows; and work with the government lead to maintain enterprise data dictionaries. The role also establishes procedures for data-lake ingestion, database access controls, pipeline troubleshooting, and disaster recovery. It interfaces with cybersecurity teams and system administrators to enforce Department of War security protocols, including RBAC, IAM boundaries, and zero-trust principles. The analyst works with government agencies, prime contractors, and other stakeholders to define data-governance standards and create resilient, automated data flows. The position requires an active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Travel is minimal, at 10% or less. For travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities or military bases, the employee must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical demands include prolonged sitting or standing, working at a computer, moving between worksites, communicating with others, and moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Requirements

Master's degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience, or bachelor's degree and at least 20 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of cloud-native ETL/ELT pipelines using managed cloud utilities such as AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory.
Experience using SQL/T-SQL, including queries, window functions, and stored procedures for cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse.
Experience using Python to write data-collection, API-integration, and ingestion-automation scripts.
Knowledge of government financial operations, including cloud infrastructure billing metrics, database utilization, and cost optimization.
Ability to produce professional data dictionaries and end-to-end data-lineage diagrams.
Ability to define tables, columns, data types, machine-readable metadata tags for data payloads, and business rules in data dictionaries.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical teams and senior military or government leadership.
Knowledge of cloud-based data lakes and distributed cloud storage architectures such as AWS S3 or Azure Blob.
Knowledge of Department of War security protocols, including IAM policies, least-privilege access, and encryption at rest and in transit within IL5/6 and CUI parameters.
Active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID, if required for domestic air travel or access to secure federal facilities or military bases.
Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods; sit and work at a computer for long periods; move to accomplish tasks or between worksites; communicate to exchange information; and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Active TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
Experience establishing DataOps and GitOps methodologies, including automated linting, test-driven data development, and blue/green or canary pipeline deployments.
Ability to develop visual and written flows showing data origins, transformations, and display locations.
Experience developing reports and dashboards using cloud-native BI solutions such as AWS Quick Sight, Microsoft Power BI service, or Tableau Cloud, connected to live cloud data sources.
Exposure to AI and ML model operations (MLOps) integrated with enterprise data lakes, such as AWS SageMaker or Azure ML.
Industry-recognized certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer; Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert; FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP); or CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification.

Responsibilities
