About The Position

Blueprint is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support advanced research and development lab environments focused on server infrastructure, hardware operations, test automation support, and enterprise systems administration. This role is highly hands-on and combines traditional systems administration with hardware deployment, infrastructure troubleshooting, lab operations, and environment management within fast-paced engineering and development ecosystems. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with physical hardware and enterprise infrastructure while also supporting virtualized systems, operating systems, automation environments, and internal lab operations. This individual should thrive in technically complex environments where priorities shift quickly and collaboration with engineering, development, and infrastructure teams is essential. In this role, you will support complex lab and development environments by deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing server and client infrastructure. You will partner closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure hardware, networking, virtualization, and operating systems are functioning reliably across test and development environments. You will also assist with lab expansion efforts, hardware lifecycle management, automation support, and infrastructure documentation while helping maintain operational excellence across multiple technical workstreams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred
  • 5+ years of systems administration experience in enterprise, lab, or infrastructure-heavy environments
  • Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments
  • Experience with virtualization technologies including Hyper-V
  • Hands-on experience with server hardware deployment and troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting networking infrastructure and cabling within lab or data center environments
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, imaging, patching, and endpoint management tools
  • Experience with remote management platforms such as iLO, iDRAC, KVM systems, or equivalent
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across hardware and software systems
  • Experience working within fast-paced engineering, R&D, or test lab environments preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to operational issues
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed within lab environments
  • Ability to work onsite in Redmond, WA

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting pre-production or engineering lab environments
  • Experience with SCCM, Azure, or enterprise endpoint management tools
  • Experience supporting firmware validation or hardware testing environments
  • Familiarity with Linux administration and scripting
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar infrastructure certifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale deployment and automation environments

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Windows Server and Linux-based lab environments
  • Deploy, configure, image, and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, and specialized test hardware
  • Build and support virtualized environments using Hyper-V and related technologies
  • Configure and troubleshoot Active Directory, DNS, networking, and remote access systems
  • Support hardware deployment activities including rack-and-stack, cabling, KVM configuration, and device onboarding
  • Perform break/fix troubleshooting across server, network, firmware, operating system, and infrastructure components
  • Conduct firmware updates, hardware diagnostics, and root cause analysis
  • Monitor and maintain lab infrastructure health, capacity, and operational readiness
  • Support test automation and engineering teams with infrastructure setup and maintenance
  • Configure and support remote management tools such as iLO, iDRAC, KVMoIP, and console access systems
  • Maintain inventory, asset tracking, and operational documentation
  • Coordinate equipment moves, deployments, and decommissioning activities
  • Utilize ticketing and operational management systems such as ServiceNow or equivalent
  • Participate in infrastructure planning, environment optimization, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with operational, safety, and security standards
