About The Position

Iridium is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to partner with its Network Infrastructure team in support of a Space Development Agency (SDA) project. The role identifies and independently implements solutions for managing and monitoring SDA network infrastructure, including a Red Hat OpenStack platform, Dell compute systems, NetApp storage, and AWS-hosted systems. The administrator supports SDA and remote Teleport Systems by configuring and maintaining local and remote infrastructure equipment and devices, and participates in or leads implementations aligned with government best-practice principles. The position provides day-to-day administration, maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting for compute, storage, AWS, OpenStack, Linux, Kubernetes, and platform systems and applications across local and remote sites. It supports recovery readiness through backup processes, conducts security audits across Linux systems, works with engineers and operators to address issues and outages, and maintains system-flow and installation documentation, procedures, and diagrams. An active/current Top Secret clearance is required, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. The position supports or is exposed to a U.S. government contract, so applicants must be U.S. citizens. It is exclusively onsite in a classified operations center; remote work is unavailable. The work is largely sedentary and involves computer use, with occasional standing, walking, and stair climbing for in-person meetings. Base pay is $116,000–$150,000; eligible additional compensation may include company stock and an annual bonus.
