At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We're turning today's impossible into tomorrow's standard – from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation chassis features. Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale. As a Senior System Safety Engineer for Braking Systems, you will support the safety of GM's braking systems from concept through validation. You will work on safety-critical, increasingly distributed brake architectures that must meet functional safety requirements across all operating, environmental, and real-world customer usage conditions. You will serve as a technical authority for system safety, translating complex hazards into clear, actionable safety requirements aligned with ISO 26262 and internal GM safety policies. You will partner closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to embed safety into system architecture, hardware, software, and validation strategies, helping ensure GM’s SDV platforms deliver safe, robust, and reliable performance at scale.
