Erias Ventures is seeking a System Engineer who will analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. This role involves analyzing system requirements and leading design and development activities. The engineer will guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. They will provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology, incorporating new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations, and developing technical documentation and system architecture/design documentation. The position also involves guiding system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. The engineer will interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts, holding ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables within the Systems Engineering area. Communication with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives is essential. The role requires managing system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems compatible with defined system architectures (e.g., DoDAF, SOA). Contributions to systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents are expected. The engineer will assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and their allocation to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components. Coordination of action items from CCB meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination is also a key responsibility. Participation in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on development and operational considerations, allocation of real-time process budgets and error budgets, and generation of alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions are part of the role. Defining methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems and subsystems against requirements, and developing system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and fulfill functional analysis are also critical. Reviewing and providing input to program and contract work breakdown structure (WBS), work packages, and the integrated master plan (IMP) is required. The engineer will participate in interface definition, design, and changes, and derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements, ensuring they are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable. Establishing and gaining approval for the definition of a system or component under development is necessary. Developing derived requirements for Information Assurance Services and implementing comprehensive SOA solutions are also key aspects. The role involves reviewing and/or approving system engineering documentation, capturing all interface designs in a common interface control format, and assessing risks to the program. Planning verification efforts for new designs and establishing a process for managing changes to requirements are also part of the responsibilities. Finally, the engineer will manage and ensure the technical integrity of the system baseline over time and support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process and Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) documents.
