About The Position

We are seeking a passionate Senior System Administrator to join the JETSII Contract. This role is crucial for supporting NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration by enabling the exploration of space while benefiting people here on Earth. You will be part of a diverse and passionate team working on exciting challenges and making a difference. As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance and operations of Windows systems in a multi-server environment, including performance tuning of the virtual environment using VMware. You will oversee patch remediation, software deployment, and maintain and enhance system security. Monitoring systems and producing reports to meet service levels are key aspects of this role, as is providing support for local and shared services such as account management, storage arrays, and disaster recovery. Developing and maintaining IT automation solutions using Kaseya, PowerShell, and other enterprise automation tools, along with updating documentation and maintaining configuration control, are also essential duties. You will also manage multiple infrastructure improvement projects as the Technical Lead and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and normally possess 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Requires independent analysis, communication and problem solving.
Strong background in the understanding of Windows domain architecture, Active Directory, local area networking, switches, firewall, systems/network security and load balancing.
Minimum of 10 years of system administration managing multiple servers.
Prior work experience working in windows administration.
Firm understanding of networking and firewall principles.
Firm understanding of File Storage Systems
Firm understanding of working with Dell Blade systems
Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 and above, VMware
Knowledge with Kaseya and automation

Nice To Haves

BS degree in a computer or systems science discipline from an accredited college or university and a minimum of ten (10) to fourteen (14) years of progressive, relevant experience, or a MS degree in a computer or systems science discipline and seven (7) to twelve (12) years of progressive experience, or Ph.D. degrees in a computer or systems science discipline and two (2) to seven (7) years progressive experience.

Responsibilities

Perform daily maintenance and operations tasks related to Windows system administration in a multi-server environment.
Provide maintenance and performance tuning of the virtual environment utilizing VMware.
Oversee patch remediation and software deployment.
Maintain and enhance system security across the environment.
Monitor systems and produce required reports to maintain documented service levels.
Provide support for local and shared services (account management, storage arrays, disaster recovery, etc.).
Develop and maintain IT automation solutions using Kaseya, PowerShell, and other enterprise automation tools.
Update documentation and maintain configuration control for the environment.
Manage multiple projects for improvements to the infrastructure as the Technical Lead.
