The Senior SW Engineering Manager is a strategic engineering leader responsible for managing a high-performing, remote-first scrum team while contributing to the broader direction of the engineering organization. This role combines direct team management with ownership of engineering operations, delivery practices, and technical strategy in support of substance use disorder (SUD) care delivery. This position is fully remote, however, for this role, we are prioritizing candidates who align with the Eastern time zone (EDT/EST) for consistent overlap and availability with our core clinical and operational teams. Beyond day-to-day team leadership, the Senior Engineering Manager drives engineering excellence across the organization: shaping how teams plan and deliver, defining approaches to AI adoption and engineering productivity, establishing standards for quality and process, and representing engineering in leadership-level planning conversations. This role operates as a strategic partner to the SVP Technology, with significant autonomy to identify problems, develop solutions, and drive outcomes across the engineering function. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in engineering management, a track record of building and scaling delivery organizations, and the judgment to balance execution with strategic investment. They are equally comfortable running a sprint and shaping a quarterly roadmap. They lead with influence, operate with a high degree of independence, and bring mature perspectives on how modern engineering teams should work.
