About The Position

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Survey Technician position. This position will consist of completing field work, coordinating with survey staff, and communicating with clients. This position will be responsible for ensuring field work is completed on schedule, within budget, and complies with all quality standards. The Senior Survey Technician is responsible for coordinating and directing survey staff members to ensure field surveys are completed to the standards of practice for land surveying and within budgetary and time constraints. Participates in the management of numerous survey projects and interacts with clients regularly. Reviews projects for compliance with company standards and ensures a smooth interface with other disciplines within the company, and directly with the clients. Supervises less experienced survey staff members and participates in developing a solid team.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science or bachelor’s degree in surveying or equivalent, or 10+ years of experience
  • Experience in construction, boundary, topographic, retracement, and ALTA surveys as they relate to municipal, DOT, energy, renewable wind, and solar projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate all survey field equipment (GPS, Robotic Total Station, data controllers, etc.)
  • AutoCAD experience, survey data processing software knowledge, and experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Occasional travel throughout the Upper Midwest
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Certified Survey Technician III, Certified Survey Technician IV, or LSIT preferred
