About The Position

This role owns the carrier strategy for Relay Freight Auctions, a program where carriers win long-term contracted freight, plan their weeks, and grow their business with Amazon. The objective is to make Amazon Relay a great choice for carriers by owning the strategy for how freight is offered, how carriers are attracted and retained, and how they find availability. The role involves building the carrier base, matching the right truck to the right opportunity, identifying and fixing breakdowns in the carrier experience, and collaborating with product and planning teams to improve the program's speed, ease of use, and freight predictability. The program is expanding into new freight types and regions, and this role will contribute to that expansion by advocating for carrier needs and Amazon's delivery requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience
  • 4+ years of owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • 3+ years of defining and executing against program timelines and requirements
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements
  • 3+ years of delivering cross-functional projects
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics, or a related field
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
  • Experience in transportation, carrier operations, freight brokerages, shippers, or the supply chain industry.

Responsibilities

  • Own the carrier strategy, including setting the mission, objectives, and approach.
  • Build engagement approaches that balance carrier needs with transportation spend.
  • Collaborate with technology and product teams to enhance program operations, reduce manual work, and accelerate carrier engagement.
  • Analyze carrier and program trends to identify opportunities for improved lane combinations, return freight, and carrier retention.
  • Partner with planning and operations teams to improve freight quality, minimize cancellations, and ensure reliable contracted freight.
  • Address ambiguous problems in a dynamic environment, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Develop and manage reporting to provide leadership with visibility into program performance, planned vs. actual results, and the impact of new initiatives.
  • Communicate program impact and strategic recommendations to business leaders and senior management.
