The Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQD) for Propulsion Systems at Stellantis is accountable for leading and managing suppliers through advanced quality planning and process development to ensure high operational efficiency, robust industrialization, and capable manufacturing processes that meet Stellantis quality and capacity requirements. This role requires close collaboration with internal and external Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams to ensure appropriate designs, suppliers, and manufacturing processes are selected, validated, and refined from early development through launch and into production. As a key driver of supplier performance, the Propulsion SQD leads root cause analysis and structured problem-solving efforts, drives process improvements, and ensures deployment of best practices and lessons learned across programs. The SQD serves as the technical expert for the manufacturing processes and technologies associated with propulsion system components. Engine components are the primary focus for this position including: Fuel systems (injectors, fuel rails, fuel pumps, fuel lines), Seals, gaskets and tubes, Valve train and Timing (valves, followers, rocker arms, push rods, camshafts, timing chains/guides, valve covers), Power Cells (Pistons, rings, connecting rods, bearings), Coolant components (hoses, thermostats, valves, water pumps), Oil system (oil pump, sprockets, piston cooling nozzles, oil pan). The SQD partners with suppliers to evaluate and develop their manufacturing processes, establish robust quality systems, and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality components to Stellantis assembly plants. This includes regular onsite supplier visits and audits, providing technical feedback, and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
