This role will establish special process requirements in alignment with Materials and Process Engineering and lead the program management needed to ensure effective planning, execution, compliance, and continuous improvement across suppliers and internal stakeholders. Job Description GE Vernova’s Wind Sourcing Supplier Quality organization is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Special Process Program Leader to lead special process governance across critical wind component suppliers. This role will be responsible for defining and deploying requirements, coordinating qualification and certification plans, and driving execution of surveillance activities for special processes including, but not limited to, welding, steel making, heat treatment, coatings, and non-destructive testing (NDT). The role will partner closely with Materials and Process Engineering, Supplier Quality, Sourcing, Engineering, and suppliers to strengthen process control, reduce supply chain risk, and ensure compliance to technical and quality requirements for critical parts. This role will also lead training and development programs related to special processes for the Supplier Quality organization to build technical capability, consistency, and awareness across the team. The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, supplier quality experience, and program management capability, with the ability to drive cross-functional alignment and execution in a global and matrixed environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, materials/process engineering, special processes, or program management.
  • Experience in supplier quality and program management within an industrial, manufacturing, energy, or heavy equipment environment.
  • Experience with special processes such as welding, steel making, heat treatment, coatings, NDT, or other controlled manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of process qualification, certification, surveillance, and audit practices for critical manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, sourcing, quality, and supplier organizations.
  • Strong project and program management skills, including planning, prioritization, execution, reporting and risk management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required to support supplier qualification, surveillance, and business needs.

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, Metallurgy, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience in supplier quality, special processes, or manufacturing quality.
  • Deep understanding of special process controls and governance for critical parts in heavy industry, energy, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certification requirements related to welding, metallurgy, heat treatment, coatings, corrosion protection, and NDT.
  • Experience leading supplier qualification, process validation, special process approval, or technical compliance programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and lead execution in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Experience performing supplier audits, technical assessments, and process reviews for special processes.
  • Knowledge of industry frameworks and standards commonly used to govern special processes, such as ISO 3834 (welding quality requirements), ISO 9712 / ASNT certification frameworks for NDT personnel, NACE / AMPP coatings and corrosion control certifications, and heat treatment or metallurgical process control standards relevant to critical parts.
  • Familiarity with recognized welding and fabrication codes and qualification standards such as AWS , ASME , ISO , or EN requirements, as applicable.
  • Professional certifications or qualifications in relevant technical disciplines are preferred, such as: AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent welding certification ASNT Level II / Level III or equivalent certification in applicable NDT methods AMPP / NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP) certification or equivalent Quality certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) , Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) , or similar Lean, Six Sigma , or other continuous improvement certification
  • Strong technical judgment, problem-solving capability, and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of supplier special process qualification, surveillance, and certification programs for critical wind components.
  • Establish and maintain special process requirements in alignment with Materials and Process Engineering and applicable technical standards.
  • Drive end-to-end program management for qualification and surveillance planning, execution, risk mitigation, and status reporting across the supply base.
  • Partner with Supplier Quality, Sourcing, Engineering, and suppliers to assess capability, ensure compliance, and improve process robustness for special processes such as welding, steel making, heat treatment, coatings, and NDT.
  • Lead training (including training development) and development programs for the Supplier Quality organization related to special processes, including technical capability building, standard work, and awareness.
  • Support continuous improvement, standardization, and issue resolution related to supplier special process performance and compliance.
  • Program and activities reporting.

Benefits

  • The base pay range for this position is $108,800.00 - 181,300.00 USD Annual.
  • The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
  • This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
